Today, by a County Court Baliff, I have received a 'Notice from Lessee to Vacate' issued by a Paris solicitor on behalf of Pierre et Vacances, for my residence La Foret in Flaine which has 131 leaseback apartments. The first 9 years of the lease expire on 30 April 2015 and the served document gives notice to terminate the lease on 30/4/15. I therefore 'think' Pierre et Vacances are using this notice to vacate so that they dont have to offer the lease renewal - I have heard absolutely nothing from Pierre et Vacances.
This all seems really strange as I expected a bill for refurbishment and a reduced offer on the current rent - the block had 81.2% occupancy lasy year over 26 weeks (winter and summer).
I am worried what will happen with the 11 remaining years of VAT? - am I responsible for repayment even though it is P&V that are pulling out? P&V in all sales documentation and on their website still state a second lease period will be offered with more flexible terms and refurbishment will take place - has anyone heard of them doing something like this notice?
Thanks
I heard that they may have done a similar thing with a residence in Brittany. They are not advertising that residence anymore. Similarly to your situation they up graded a residence in the same area to premium and seem to be directing the tourism that way. They do seem to be advertising La Flaine for summer 2015 though so perhaps they are going to issue you with another form of lease? Good luck!
