CGH - LES FERMES DE SAINTE FOY

25 Septembre 2015

Hi

I ve been offered an appt in this development at what seems a keen price to the owners apparently needing a swift sale due to divorce.

The lease is due up in Dec 2017 and i forsee a possible large bill for a refurb at that point.

Any other owners on here able/willing to share their experiences of the development/leaseback/CGH ?

We love Ste Foy and go every year

Inheritance Tax

2 Septembre 2015

What is the position relating to Inheritance Tax when the owner of a leaseback property dies? Does the beneficiary have to pay Inheritance Tax on the value of the property at the time of death, even if the lease is still current? Or not unless and until they sell the property? Or when the lease expires? If the beneficiary renewed the lease indeffinitely would they escape Inheritance Tax?

Leaseback Owner Death

8 Août 2015

I have been concerned about what would happen to my French leaseback property if I die.

I have a French mortgage with mortgage life assurance, so the mortgage will be paid off (supposedly)

if I die. But what would happen then about local taxes, site management fees and letting company fees for a running lease ?

I have never seen this question asked directly here and can find no information on Google.

Filing Taxes

22 Mai 2015

Hi All,

Does anyone know whether it's possible to access English version of Tax documents to file taxes online?  Or, if the government website provides help.  Or, if anyone can

provide any information of how to fill in the French Tax Docs for a leaseback situation which must all be pretty much the same.  I've been paying

an online English/French service to do this since I bought my leaseback in '07 but can't afford to pay several hundred euro for a task that must be quite simple.  I'd appreciate

any advice provided.

Thank you.

Paying off a French mortgage

28 Avril 2015

Hi. The balance of our Mortgage stands around 26 to 27,000 Euro and we have 8 years left to run on it. I have asked the mortgage company to quote us a figure to pay this mortgage off 8 years early. They quote the whole balance (plus a little bit) to pay it off..........Surely they should be deducting 8 years worth of  interest and life insurance premiums included in the 320 euro monthly repayments! Is this the case or am i barking up the wrong tree?????
