Has anyone experienced the management company adding an additional high season week into the calendar and also putting it in a month that had always previously been mid- season. This has just happened to me and means we now can't use our apartment at Easter! Any advice please?
Got a letter today from my management company claiming I must pay new fees to cover DPE (Diagnostic de Performance Energetique) and ERNT (Etat des Risques Naturels et Technologies).
Bottom line is that 150 euros will be deducted from my rent this year + 55 euros every time the tenant changes.
My appartment is let to students and business types so I can expect several new tenants each year.
Has anybody heard of these new climate taxes?
Shouldn't they be levied at building level rather than at individual apartments?

Just hesitating over the numbers a bit before committing to a leaseback (Orelle) over the numbers.
I think I understand the position on French tax on rental income for UK domiciled people. But as I understand it you also have to declare income from other countries in your UK tax return and presumably pay at 40% if appropriate. I know you can offset tax paid in france but can you also offset mortgage interest payments and other expenses?
Im very interested in the leaseback scheme but i would like to know if the scheme is as good as it looks.
If i buy a property for £100,000 and i get guaranteed rentals giving me a return of 4.5% for 9 years, am i right in saying that each year i will receive £4500? and the maintence costs are covered?
I am struggling to find out a non bias explination of how the system breaks down.
I am hoping that the scheme will allow me to purchase a property long term with a significant rental income towards the mortgage.
There are some scary stories on leasebacks here which is making me think twice, but does anyone have any suggestions of good (city) leasebacks available at present?
I own a couple of leasebacks - 1 in the alps & 1 at Sophia Antipolis and I'm thinking of buying again.
Although the leasebacks are doing well, it has been suggested to me that reselling is difficult and I should look at reversions - does anyone have experience of these??
I understand what they are and how they work, but are they a good idea for the private investor?

Hi, it seems from reading the posts that the management company is a most crucial element in the future success of the leaseback. Could anyone advise if they have experence of dealing with the Clinipole/Elior Group who will be managing a leaseback we are interested in in Palavas sur Flot?
