Definitive Source of Information

Hi

I have been reading with interest some recent posts and in particular Seamus' post regarding the non-payment of bailiff's fee. There are also posts on issues such as 70% of the development must be a leaseback setup for it to qualify as a leaseback for VAT. There was also a post on an owner being allowed to have another company come in and manage his leaseback individually, whilst the incumbent mgt company was still in situ. I asked my Notaire about this and I was told that this isn't possible as one company manages reception, linen etc and logistically it is infeasible (i.e. all customers go to reception and the existing mgt comapny will not share with another company just looking after 1 or 2 residences).

After all of these posts my question is as follows: is there a definitive source of information (i.e. a document) that clarifies all rules in relation to a leaseback so that we are not constantly engaged in speculation? Don't get me wrong, this website is an excellent resource and Seamus is to be applauded for allowing such honest reporting on his site (given he is in the leaseback business). If we didn't have this website and Seamus to help us we would be totally lost. But it shouldn't be up to Seamus to do all of this. There should be a strict set of rules in a document that takes the subjectivity out of these issues. This document should be provided to all potential purchasers. Does anyone know of such a resource? Finally does anyone know the outcome of the Paris meeting on March 14th?

When you mention a meeting of the co-owners - who do you mean ?

I am an owner of one of the 9 residences. We received a proposed revised lease in November requesting a 40% reduction. I wrote back to residhotel asking them to answer a number of queries before I would consider their offer. They have not ever bothered to reply to me.

Also, I have only received one letter from the Conciliator stating they would be negotiating on our behalf and that they would be in touch to discuss proposals - but again, I have heard nothing further.

So at this point I am unsure who is negotiating anything on my behalf ? I have certainly not been asked what value of reduction I would be prepared to accept.
