It looks like our management company is going to offer us a chance to get out of the lease early as they cannot pay our rent. We are very keen to do this so we can hopefully generate and control our own income. Our major concern is paying back the VAT if we do this but we have read with interest that we may not have to do this if we continue to rent via a local management company. We would love some advice if anyone has done this successfully, accountants, lawyers used etc. Also if anyone can recommend someone who can help set up our webpage to advertise our apartment, that would be great. Our leaseback experience has been very stressful and costly and we do not have the time to manage it ourselves but have been forced into this situation in order to meet the mortgage payments. Hopefully though we can share our experiences with others to see a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Who is your management company?
We are with Resitel who went into sauvegarde in March and then out again in June and then had an appeal to go back into sauvegarde in July and currently appear to be in a legal no-mans land that allows them to continue to rent our property butnot pay us rent nor let us come out the lease !
However, we hope to eventually get out of the lease, pay the VAT and self rent.
While the longer term plan is to set up our own web page in the short term you may wish to consider advertising on websites such as owners direct or homlidays.
Please let me know how you get on - until we either have our lease cancelled or receive some rent then there is no light at the end of our tunnel !
