Hi all,
Diana Bryce has organised for a letter to be sent (today or early next week latest...the impact will be far greater if everybody sends this at the same time!) to your MP, local MP and MEP with regards to the serious problems being had with leasebacks.
You can see the original thread in the 'Leaseback Stories' section of the forum and under the topic heading of 'Group Action'. You can contact Diana for a copy of the letter/email with information.
I’m English but living in Ireland...hopefully I’ve pin pointed the correct TDs and MEP to send this letter to, as I’m not overly familiar with politicians in Ireland. I did a quick Google, and decided to send to:
Leo Varadkar (TD for Transport & Tourism)
Eamon Gilmore (TD for Foreign affairs and Trade)
Jim Higgins (MEP for Transport & Tourism)
Best,
hi,
Just wondering if you had any responses for the TDs?. I am
one of a group of owners of leaseback managed currently by
Resid Hotel who of course are bankrupt so we are looking at
our options...think its disgraceful that these cowboys are
allowed to steal our money so blatantly!!
Thanks for the info, I've now posted the letter to all of the above as well.
I contacted my European MP and was advised this was between us
and the French Government to sort out and not something she was
prepared to intervene in,she advised we had willingly entered into a
contract that we understood the terms of and was a matter for French
Law regarding administration and receivership laws in France.
Not much help for us I'm afraid.
Hello Tuulia,
I wish you well with your battle, however I am currently
part of an organised group who have been at war with a
management company, developer and indeed the original
leaseback selling agents for the past 6+ years and I can
tell you it's been a serious up-hill and very expensive
legal battle with very little progress.
We did try letters and e-mails to both Irish and French
politicians over many years but this, in our case was a
waste of time.
Unfortunately Leaseback has has been a complete disaster
for thousands of people.
Again - best of luck going forward !!

Hi Ipanes
I read your comments with interest about your lazy MEP. I went down the same route with my MEP who has taken some progressive steps and tabled some questions at the Euro Parliament. Your MEP has totally missed the point. This is not about entering into a fair contract. It's about unfair terms, corruption and a legal system that is totally loaded against the investor in favour of some very dubious characters. These characters are purporting to be selling a "guarenteed" product which clearly never was.
Perhaps your MEP might want to consider a proper job if she doesn't have the capacity or drive to get her head around the issues.
Do you fancy naming her?
