I am finding this irish Leaseback site very interesting. Would it be a good idea for Irish leaseback holders to meet up somewhere to have a meeting once a year to discuss leaseback issues? This is not to say that this is an excellent website with good information, personal contact is also good. What do members think?
Hi, first post so apologies if this is in the wrong place.
We own a couple of leasebacks, one in Paris and one in Nice. The one in Paris is well managed and has been working well for approx. 4 years, however the one in Nice (Goldstar) managed by RCM has turned into a complete nightmare.
After significant build delays (approx 1 year) and now after 1 year in full operation we have yet to receive a single Euro.

I currently own a leasback property in a refurbished development and am considering a second purchase in the same development, an apartment that is 2 years into a 9 year lease agreement.
I'm wondering;
1. Is there any advantage/disadvantage in purchasing a property during the term of the lease.
2. Is there any tax advantages in having a second property inm the same development.
3. Can you extend an existing mortgage to cover the second purchase or do you have to take out a new mortgage (with Barclays).

Does any one know an owner of a property in the Arc1950 deveopment? Me and two friend are seriously considering buying there. We are having real problems tracking down current owners to ask of theie experience. What were thier actual returns, what is their opinion of the whole experience/ deal /commpany?

Hi there, I am looking at leasebacks in france. Not sure yet where. Obviously i want to check out what tax implications there are with leasebacks. Could somebody provide me with a list of all the taxes that i would be liable for both here and in france should i decide to buy a leaseback property in france.
I understand that if i have a french mortgage that this can be offset against tax on rental income in france. So if there is zero tax payable to france is it zero to Ireland too?
There have been several delays in buying our Leaseback in Theoule Sur Mer. This has included that we still have not received the signed copies of the contract back. The developer says they were sent but it was when we were away. They have never arrived. As time has gone on with delays I have considered pulling out of the sale. Can anyone confirm as I have never received the contracts can I pull out under the 7 day cooling off period as it effectively never began.
