Taxation

27 Décembre 2006

If anyone has paid any tax in France that they think they should not have paid, you only have until 31st December of the year following the year in which you paid the disputed tax, to reclaim it. It is also your responsibility to ensure that you pay any taxes due. The tax office does not always tell you what taxes are due or when they are due.

Refurbished Leaseback

15 Décembre 2006

Can anyone help with the following please re. a leaseback that is a refurbished property as opposed to a new build?:

What building defects guarantee should one expect on a refurbished property? Does the vendor have to undertake / make available a condition survey or similar prior to sale?

During the lease does the management companys' repair responsibility extend to structural repairs and exterior decoration as well as internal upkeep?

Taxe Professionnelle

13 Décembre 2006

It's official! Taxe Professionnelle must be paid by the management company and not the private owner. Following a court ruling in April this year, I have received a rebate for the TP I paid in 2005. I don't know what's happened to the TP I paid in 2003 and 2004 but I suppose it's a start!

Selling a leaseback

21 Novembre 2006

This is my first ever forum posting, so please excuse me if I am asking a previously asked/responded to question?

I'm interested in purchasing a ski leaseback property, but I am concerned about eventual re-sale? Has anyone got any experiences of purchasing a lease back, and then selling it a few years later. Has the capital value of the property appreciated? - A circa 4.0% yield would hardly seem worth it, if the property is subsequently difficult to sell on.

orelle

12 Novembre 2006

I am thinking about buying in orelle a bit out of the way but linked to the trois vallee- the price is good but a couple of things worry me. Its not ski in ski out and is linked to val thorens by telecabin that can be prone to closure in high wind. The development is around 700 km from the lift. The place is really quiet. Anybody any thoughts?
